This paper deals with reliability and cost analysis of a single-unit centrifugal pumping machine, operated by technician and subject to inspection protocols. The machine's faults are categorized as hard or soft based on repair time and cost implications. Soft faults induce system downtime, while hard faults result in complete machine failure. Following a failure event, the technician assesses the reparability of faults before proceeding with necessary actions. Through the utilization of Semi-Markov processes and regenerative point techniques, various metrics for system effectiveness are derived. Graphical analyses are employed to examine the system, leading to insights into its reliability and associated costs. This study offers valuable insights for optimizing the reliability and cost-efficiency of single-unit centrifugal pumping machines.
