In the field of astronomy, by simply observing the heavens with unaided eyes and using indigenous mathematical tools, a young astronomer in India during the fifth century, accurately measured the period of Earth's rotation with respect to the fixed starts in the sky and deduced the shape of Earth and its rotation and did many remarkable works in Astronomy and Mathematics.
