This study investigates two-dimensional disturbances in a homogeneous, isotropic micro-elongated thermo elastic medium. The medium is characterized by a human skin tissue structure and the analysis is based on the Lord-Shulman theory. The resulting mathematical model employs normal mode technique to solve a specific case of a half-space subjected to thermal shock loading. A numerical study is carried out with the aid of computer programming using the software MATLAB in order to examine the effects of time, micro-elongated parameter and skin tissue parameter on the physical quantities. One limiting case is also extracted from the general formulation to confirm the validity and consistency of the results.
