The present paper compares twelve Indian Life Insurance Companies in respect of Revenue Efficiency for the period of 2005–06 to 2011–12 using New Revenue IV Approach of Data Envelopment Analysis. It is concluded that Life Insurance Corporation stabilized itself at Revenue Efficiency Score of one during seven years of study and become the only player who performed consistently. Performance of rest of the life insurers fluctuated. Out of twelve private life insurance companies; five registered a rise in Revenue Efficiency Score for more than three years and signifies themselves as those players whose performance has improved.
