Abstract

An investigation to assess the effects of foliar sprays of wettable sulphur + boric acid and GA3 on russeting of pear cv. ‘Bartlett’ was conducted during 2006 and 2007 at Research orchard, Faculty of Agriculture, Sopore, J&K. The study revealed that foliar sprays at fruit-set through fruit drooping stage at weekly intervals significantly reduced skin russet on pear at harvest. Russet level declined with increase in the concentration of both wettable sulphur and boric acid from 0.5 to 0.7 and 0.05 to 0.1%, respectively.
