Development of Road Infrastructure in Haryana

The State of Haryana has seen rapid National Highway infrastructuredevelopment in the past four years. Till 2014 the length of NationalHighways was 1,659 km. In 2018 the length of National Highways hasbeen increased to reach 3,531 km. 38 development projects in the roadsector have been undertaken with investments worth Rs. 14,000 Cr, andare scheduled for completion in 2019.

Haryana being bordered by Delhi, a lot of effort has been made toensure smooth flow of traffic between these two States. The mostsignificant amongst these is the 135 km 6 lane Eastern PeripheralExpressway, built worth Rs. 11,000 Cr, connecting Kundli to Palwalvia Ghaziabad. In the coming years many new road developmentinitiatives will be undertaken in Haryana. The present research paper is an attempt to provide insights into development of Road infrastructure in Haryana.
