The widespread expansion of Internet has set aprospect for the development of a new way of conducting Business called E-Commerce. E-Commerce is the paperlessexchange of business information and refers to Internetshopping, online stock and bond transactions, the downloadingand selling of “soft merchandise” and business-to-businesstransactions. E-commerce has been developed by the highintegration of transportation infrastructures, information andcommunication technology. The rapid growth of the ecommerceis the basis of different, positive as well as negativeimpacts on environment. This paper explores the requirement of e-commerce for the growth of business, role of Government towards e-commerce. Also focus on factors influences e-commerce andsuggestion for environmentally friendly e-commerce with their benefits. The main aim of this research point is to sustainability being positively enhanced by increased online commerce; mainly through economic aspects. Social and environmental aspects were in some cases deemed to be positively affected.
