‘Studies on synthesis and effectiveness of an eco-friendly mosquito repellent’

Abstract

Herbal medicines are more effective to cure different types of new and old diseases; it has number of applications in respective fields. Organic constituents are degradable harmless to the environment. Various type of diseases like dengue, malaria, typhoid, yellow fever which is caused by mosquito bite. It is necessary to protect our health from environmental hazardous factors. Many chemically synthesized mosquito repellents are available in the market. These contain harmful and toxic ingredients, which cause another type of health problems and threat to human being. An attempt has been made to fabricate complete herbal product by using selective easily available herbs. It is based on traditional and rural practices, even today rural peoples knows properties and uses of number of medicinal herbs. It is effective and cheaper than other chemical based coils, liquidators’ market available mosquito repellents. The herbal repellent has no side effects on inhalation or digestion. This study deals with selection of ingredients and their medicinal characteristic properties and its effectiveness. Cow dung was the major ingredient. It has antioxidant property. It is very sacred in Hindu community. This product help to protect us from mosquito. A Financial helps to rural public. The main advantage is that easily available material and low production cost and simple method for preparation.
