In Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs), frequent failures of links are inevitable. Thus, adopting effective routing for communication is tedious unlike in structured networks through Dynamic routing protocols. To have reliable communication in MANETS broadcasting and multicasting protocols are under investigation by the researchers. Recently, researchers started developing a concept called backup path. Discovering backup paths is an interesting and challenging task in MANETS in real time. This paper proposes an algorithm for discovering the backup path and also demonstrates the same.
