Abstract

Namdeo Dhasal’s poems are of rebellion and protest. His poem propagates rebellion for demolishing the entire structure of Indian society. It rejects the whole established system of negotiations and exchanges with a view to creating a casteless society. It advocates equality and is radically different from other poems of protest and rebellion in Marathi. Protest and rebellion are the ornaments of Dhasal’s poems. The resistance of his poems has an accommodative dimension. Dhasal seems dangerous and volatile in his harsh expressions but at the same time he calls it lived experiences. His choice of language is filthy and uncivilized which does not fit in at least in social standard. But despite of his profanes, his poems have dream and discovery for underprivileged of the human race.
