He was not satisfied from thesocio- economic and political status of Muslim; they were backwards in all aspect. Aligarh Movement affected the Muslims and they became conscious regarding their socio-economic conditions.Indian National Congress came in to existence in 1885, assured to Indians for protection of their interest. Sayyid Ahmad Khan opposed the congress and its movement. He said that Congress is demanding the constitutional representation and democratic institutions while the population of the Muslims were less as compare to Hindus, since, the congress will not be interested to protect the rights of the Muslims. He warned the Muslims not to participate in the activities of the congress because it maygo to establish the Hindu Raj. In 1906, a delegation of the Muslims headed by Aaga Khan met Lord Minto and discussed about political interest of Muslims, which lead to formation of All India Muslim League. Soon after its establishment the Muslim league has raised the demand of separate electorate for the Muslims.
