This research paper systematically and methodologically endeavours to analyse Satwant Singh’s world of art spanning over six decades, unveiling the genesis and stages of development of thought-processes and artistic ethos, completely demystifying the essence of psychological, social, political, spiritual and mystic layers wrapped in contemporary perspectives. This contemporary artist who is a great lover of living forms portrays his deeper thoughts and complex emotions, employing them as vehicles of thought. His meticulously done vibrant and evocative oeuvre of artwork poses a serious comment on the relationship of homosapiens with Mother Nature-the cradle of all civilizations. The tentacles of alienation, isolation, ignorance, violence and gender biases are spreading in the urban jungle. This profusely awarded and extremely popular artist has contributed immensely towards the spread of contemporary visual narrative in art. His leitmotif half-animal half-human forms deeply express the minuscule human sentiments. This multi-talented artist is equally at ease in painting, drawing, graphics, sculpture, murals and caricatures. His long and dedicated encounters with serious art have put him on pedestal in the art world and is recognised as one the doyens of contemporary art in India.
