Role of DOAJ in promoting Open Access E-Journals for Library and Information Science

Open Access (OA) e-journals in Library and Information Science (LIS) provide unrestricted online access to scholarly articles, promoting wider dissemination and equitable access to academic resources. OA journals have become pivotal in LIS due to their potential to enhance research visibility, encourages knowledge sharing, and foster collaborative advancements within the field. The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) plays a crucial role by indexing high-quality, peer-reviewed OA journals across disciplines, including LIS. By providing a curated list of credible journals, DOAJ serves as a valuable resource for librarians, researchers, and academics, offering a transparent platform to identify reputable OA journals and avoid predatory publishers.
