Adolescence is a crucial developmental phase characterized by significant emotional, psychological, and biological changes. Current definitions of emotional maturity often fail to address the complex realities adolescents face in contemporary society. This paper aims to modernize the concept by integrating classical psychological models with current interdisciplinary research. It examines the neurological, sociocultural, and educational factors that influence emotional growth during adolescence. A multidimensional, context-sensitive model is proposed to better represent emotional maturity as a dynamic construct that evolves through various stages.
