Assistant Professor,
In order to construct the new Indian educational system in perfect accord with the tenets of the United Nations (UN) 2030 agenda for sustainable development, the National Education Policy 2020 was founded on five pillars: access, equity, affordability, accountability, and quality. However, a substantial overhaul of the Indian educational system is necessary for the effective execution of this goal. A cross-sectional research design served as the basis for the study, which included multi-stage, simple random, and purposeful sampling techniques to choose 27 colleges. Thirteen higher education institutes from the Bolangir district and fourteen from the Sambalpur district were selected using a basic random procedure. 200 (42.6 percent) of the 470 kids in the study were chosen from the Sambalpur district, while 270 (57.4 percent) of the students were chosen from the Bolangir district. The information was gathered from primary and secondary sources. For data analysis and table creation, the statistical program for social sciences (SPSS 20) was utilised. The importance of the National Education Policy 2020 for the next generation in the districts of Bolangir and Sambalpur, Odisha, is discussed in this study. The study identifies a number of significant obstacles that must be overcome in order to really promote universal access to high-quality education.
