Abstract

This article examines the post-Osama developments in Pakistan and its impact on Pakistan-US relations. It further analyses the implications of the scenario of US withdrawal from the point of view of ongoing war against terrorism to which India's security situation is inextricably linked. The thrust of argument is centered around the location where the killing of Osama was conducted which raises questions related to the extent of Pakistan's involvement with al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations, the role of ISI and the related credentials of Pakistan's status as a US ally against terrorism and the US counter terrorism operations inside Pakistani territory etc. The shadows of above questions very much impinge upon the future of overall Pakistan-US strategic relations in the light of complications that has arisen in recent times.
