Women Empowerment, Peace and Security

Women empowerment depends on a lot of variables viz. geographical location, educational status, age, social status etc. India is a democratic country and our laws, policies, plans and programs have focused on advancement of women in different spheres. Large number of acts have been enacted by Government of India to safeguard women and their interesst. But there are significant gaps in policy advancements and actual practice. The present paper attempts to address the various issues related to the women empowerment, peace and security. Paper also discusses various laws, rules and regulations framed by Government of India for protection of women and to which extent these laws are successful.
