Abstract

The study evaluates the impact of School Feeding Programmes (SFP) on health and learning of school children in rural India. The goal of this programme was to give boost to universalisation of basic education and to impact the nutritional intake of students in primary and secondary classes. This study try to assess to what extent these goals are being fulfilled. Here, the study depends on the primary data collected through simple random sampling method, surveyed on children of 6–13 years age group from govt. aided primary and secondary schools of rural set up. The study reports that the programme has been achieved in improving children's attitude, behavioural pattern and learning with their enrollment, attendance andretention in the school. To make the achievements much better, the challenges facing this programme are also being addressed and few recommendations are being mentioned.
