Abstract

Many institutions and organizations recently have identified knowledge as a factor of production, main driver of growth, creation of wealth and employment and considered its role in global competitions as an important factor. Knowledge reaches its full capacity when it can create economic value when organizational procedures and processes are included and internalized in products. Knowledge-based economy is also created through training in persons. For this reason, human capital is an essential and valuable element in Knowledge-based economy. To create suitable human capital, it is necessary to invest in education, research and development. It should be noted that suitable manpower in knowledge-based economy is a person who has been trained based on needs of market. Therefore, considering that role of education in knowledge-based development strategy is important, this paper tries to elaborate relationship between education and knowledge-based economy.
