Abstract

India is a country with divergent culture, colours and taste. It has the ability to imbibe different dimensions and make it its own. But, in addition to this, it also gets affected by so many spheres of life. Cinema is one such sphere. The relation of Society and Cinema is quite evident. Cinema has the potential not only to change the society but it can uplift it also. Indeed, man is a social animal and gets affected by society. Media and Technology affects him. Undoubtedly, the impact of the regional Cinema is tremendous on our psychology. We feel very much attached and comfortable with our regional language. It's a fact that message conveyed in our own language is more impressive and wide spread. That is why Punjabi and South Indian Cinema are flourishing to a great zeal. In fact, Bollywood is also availing such regional talents. The Haryanvi talent is no exception to that and Haryanvi actors are doing wonders not only in Bollywood but in International cinema as well. Why regional cinema in Haryana is lacking behind is matter of deep concern. If talent is concerned we stand second to none. Then what are the reasons for its failure? This paper is an attempt to find the root-cause of this problem and to explore the new heights in our regional cinema. To give authenticity to our paper, we have tried to inculcate the views of veterans of Haryanvi Cinema.
