The paper highlights the various factors responsible for the revolt of 1857. With the unraveling of new sources, we come to new interpretation of revolts and the role of various unsung heroes in this besides the known persons and regions. Our endeavor in this paper is to highlight the larger perspectives i.e. this was one revolt having many voices.
