The title of article is "Archetypes of Art History-regarding historiographic studies of fundamental theoretical models"-where I have proposed an analysis of theoretical developments in the field of Art Historical models. In the beginning I have introduced theoretical principles of Heinrich Wolfflin's formalism of style along with the contextual views of Erwin Panofsky's ‘Iconography and Iconology ’in relation to both subjectively and conceptually understand Art History. In the next part I have in detail discussed about the chronological archetypal models of Art Historical discourses following the studies done by Donal Preziosi including the areas of psychoanalysis, socialism, semiotics and feminism etc. In conclusion I have tried to establish an idea of Art History as an academic study of historiography involving referential and specialised areas to critically understand and interpret varied art representations.
