Abstract

This paper highlights the condition of historical monuments which have been successful in surviving their identity in Aluwha. Aluwha was a halting stage on the Agra-Lahore highway during the medieval period. In this site there are many historical structures like sarai, tank, aaramgah and well. Structures and monuments are essential parts of a city or town. These structures have their national importance. These monuments are not only important as historical buildings but also symbols of cultural identity. The study of monuments is a good method to draw conclusions about past human behavior. In this paper an attempt has been made to reconstruct the history of Aluwha on the basis of ruins of the monuments.
