Abstract

Legal Aid is the aid given to the poor or indigent person to have access to justice. Without which the poor cannot defend or fight for his right. It gives the poor the opportunity to represent him equally with other parties in court of law. As the purpose of every law, is to provide justice to everyone irrespective of caste, creed, religion, financial or other constraints. As the preamble of Indian constitution assure us about economic, social and political justice. It should not only be the black letters of the law but it should be proper implemented. Now, the question arises that, after the passing of Indian constitution and NALSA Act 1987, whether the poor has access to justice or not? The objective of this paper is to find out whether Indian government is successful in implementing provisions relating to legal aid given under different acts? Whether State of Haryana under Haryana State Legal Services Authorities is achieving its aim of access to justice to all?
