E-technology as an Aid for Agriculture An Analytical View

With an all-pervasive effect of information and communication technology (ICT), the agricultural sector has also started experiencing its effects and benefits. Further, the farmers are able to reap multiple advantages of the use of ICT and so has the agricultural sector. Not only does help in proper dissemination of technology and better communication between the different players in the agricultural sector, its positive effect is also seen in terms of improvement in production and enhancing the strength of agricultural value and supply chain system. The present paper presents an analytical view regarding the importance and penetration of ICT in agriculture, its major tools, governmental initiatives/steps as well as the benefits of ICT to the agricultural sector in general and farmers in particular.
