Gives the meaning and brief history of the role of libraries in managing access to information resources (AM), which is recently used term in library literature. Calls AM a derivative of Ranaganathan's Fourth Law identifies the objectives of AM as expansion of commitment for user's satisfaction. Reaffirms that the objectives of AM can be achieved by making a competent team of library staff, by building a balanced and users centric collection of e-resources, by providing value added services, by adopting ICT, and also by associating for resource sharing with OCLC, Library Consortia, Library Network, Identifies some of the constraints of AM. Assures that institution of library will continue to exist, may be in a new format, i.e., Cybrary.
