Central Asian countries have an important place in world politics from ancient age. India has historical and cultural relations since the third century B.C. to Central Asia. India adopted “Connect Central Asia” policy from June 2012 and tried to establish new dimension in the CAR states. After adopting this policy, India has developed cooperative engagement and partnership to achieve national interest in this region. Both have signed various agreements and MoU in trade, Information Technology (IT), humanitarian aid, and security and defence area. Various high level political visits also organized from both sides time to time. The manuscript is an attempt to examine the facts of India’s “Connect Central Policy.” The article defines India’s economic, political, energy security, defence and other interests in the context of Central Asia. The article also examines the future opportunities for India’s Cooperation with Central Asian nations. It also mentions the challenges and prospects of the region before India. Secondary sources have been used to write manuscripts.
