Improving Coriander Value Chain Performance through Capacity Building to Enhance Farm Incomes

The study conducted in the Bundi district of Rajasthan, has indentified the problems faced by farmers in production, post-harvest management and marketing of coriander. The intensity of the identified constraints in the actual field situation was measured to prove their validity and to find out the extent to which they were perceived by the farmers as impediments to production and marketing of coriander. Based on these identified problems, different capacity building activities were undertaken; these included training, front line demonstrations, exposure visits and farmer-scientist interactions on different aspects of production, post-harvest management and marketing of coriander. The study on the impact of capacity building activities has revealed improved performance of coriander value chain.
