The study conducted in the Vidartha region of Maharashtra, has examined the area, production and productivity of soybean along with the trends in arrivals and price of soybean in major markets in the region. Higher growth rates in all the three parameters, viz. area, production and productivity of soybean have been noticed in all the selected districts, except in Washim and Nagpur districts. The index number analysis has indicated a negative relationship between the arrivals and prices of soybean in the selected markets. However, wide fluctuations have been observed in arrivals in comparison to prices in the markets.
