The paper has analyzed management of fruits and vegetables supply chains and networks of HOPCOMS (Horticultural Producers’ Cooperative Marketing and Processing Ltd.) in the city of Mysore, Karnataka. The supply chain of HOPCOMS comprises Member farmers → HOPCOMS procurement centre → HOPCOMS retail outlets Consumer. In a survey conducted in 2010 on the rating of HOPCOMS by farmers, it has been found that 71 per cent rated the services of HOPCOMS as ‘good’ and 26 per cent as ‘very good’ to farmers. Across consumers also, about 69 per cent have rated HOPCOMS as ‘good’ coupled with 19 per cent as ‘very good’ and 8 per cent as ‘excellent’. The study has suggested that to satisfy the consumers, a supply chain management system should operate with two main objectives: timeliness and quality.
