The study has explored farmers’ willingness to pay for the public agricultural extension services in the state of Tripura by selecting 80 farmers randomly from all the four districts of the state. The study has revealed that all respondents were willing to pay for getting extension services and the average amount farmers were willing to pay was 34.42. The willingness-to-pay amount was directly related to the farm-size. All the farmers wanted to pay for getting information on plant protection (100%), followed by on marketing (93.3%), credit services (86.7%), cultivation practices of food crops (80%), cultivation practices of vegetable crops (80%), land development (76.7%), post-harvest technology (76.7%), and new varieties (73.3%). Considering the farmer's willingness to pay for information delivery, the study has suggested that public sector organizations like Department of Agriculture should initiate delivery of consultation and need-based extension services in the state.
