Abstract

Various technologies are being developed by the research organizations for the farmers to earn profits in agriculture and improve their livelihood. But, mere development of technologies will not be beneficial. The relevant information has to be made available to them. Use of information and communication technologies can serve the purpose, but the information that is available at different locations needs to be arranged in a manner accessible to the user-farmer. Here, content management system can play an important role by making the content user-friendly. Keeping this in mind, the Government of India is focusing on developing e-governance projects for rural development, viz. TNAU Agritech Portal, Rice Knowledge Management Portal, India Development Gateway, Green Sim Cards, etc.
