Abstract

In present paper has studied the status of polyhouse technology in vegetable production for nutritional security in Haryana. The study is based on primary data collected through personal interview from Karnal district in Haryana during 2013–14. The study has found that the number of farmers adopting polyhouse technology was highest in Karnal (220), followed by Rohtak (185) and was lowest in Mahendergarh (10). The study has reported that short life of polysheet (92.5%) and infestation of insect-pest (90%) were the major production constraints, whereas lack of minimum support price (92.5%), high price fluctuations (87.5%) and lack of market information (75%) were the major of marketing constraints.
