This paper has evaluated the activities of Uttar Pradesh State Agricultural Produce Market Board (UPSAPMB) in terms of its economic status, functioning, contributions to market committees, etc. by collecting data for the past 15 years (2000–01 to 2014–15). The study has revealed that the income of Mandi Samities depends directly on the arrivals of agricultural produce in the Mandi Samities and the expenditure incurred by the Board under various heads, viz. administration, technical, physical, educational and social welfare. The study has recommended development of infrastructures like cold storage, godowns, etc. in the markets to help increase farmers’ income in the state.
