Using geospatial analysis this study has assessed the district level nutrients status and market potential for fertilisers in Uttar Pradesh. For study, secondary data form various sources were pooled and analysed in Quantum GIS platform. The study has shown that the soils of Uttar Pradesh are sufficient in nitrogen and deficit in phosphorus and potash. The supply of nitrogen and potash is sufficient, while of phosphorous is not well distributed. The study has also shown linkage between gross sown area, irrigation and fertilizer consumption using geospatial analysis. The study has revealed a huge demand supply gap and potential for new dealership for retailers. The main contribution of this study is to understand how new technologies like Geospacial Information Systems (GIS) can be used to plan for a more effective input distribution system for increasing the farmers’ income.
