System of rice intensification: a strategy to improving farm income

System of Rice Intensification (SRI) is claimed to increase rice yield with limited resources. This paper has focused on identifying the determinants of SRI adoption and examining its impact on farm income using primary data from 80 randomly selected respondents in Gumla district of Jharkhand. Regression results show that adoption of SRI is determined by farm size, membership to agriculture association, age of household-head and off farm income. Regression results also show a positive and significant effect on farm income.
