The Government of Karnataka launched a flagship scheme Krishi Bhagya Yojana (KBY) to make rainfed farming sustainable. The present study is an attempt to study the impact of KBY on crop diversification, productivity and crop returns. The study was conducted in Ballari, Koppal and Raichur districts. There was a noticeable change in yield of tur crop to the extent of 33.16% followed by chickpea (32.72%). The increase in the marketable surplus was noticed for majority of the crops except cotton, rabi jowar and paddy. There was increase in returns of tur and chickpea crops to the extent of 46.02 and 51.28% respectively after the implementation of KBY.
