The study was undertaken to evaluate the expansion of bank branches as well as growth in total advances (including agriculture advances) and total deposits based on secondary data for the last 8 years (2008–09 to 201516) collected from lead bank (Central Bank of India). The number of branches were increased substantially along with advances (including agriculture) and deposits which were increased at a highly significant rate. Some of measures to improve the performance of lead bank includes cooperation by member banks and the scheme should be continued to accelerate financial inclusion in the non-banking areas of the district.
