Abstract

This paper uses data from a field survey in Bihar to examine the impact of membership of farmers in farmer producer organizations (FPOs) on the adoption of technologies and Good Agricultural Practices. Membership in FPOs influences both the outcome variables positively and significantly, but poor access to capital and the absence of a proper monitoring and evaluation mechanism are among the most important challenges.
