Krishi Vigyan Kendra training programmes and their impact on the socio-economic status and knowledge of trainees

Abstract

This study was carried out on 300 trainees (150 on-campus and 150 off-campus) of a Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) training programme. These trainees were selected from six villages of three blocks from Anantnag district of Kashmir valley. The findings reveal that the socio-economic status was low for 37% of on-campus trainees vs 47% of off-campus trainees, medium for 41% vs 36% and high for 22% vs 17%. The level of knowledge about the KVK training programme was low for 16% of on-campus trainees vs 62% of off-campus trainees, medium for 64% vs 29% and high for 29% vs 20%.
