The present study was conducted in the districts of Hoshiarpur and Amritsar in Punjab. The increase in cauliflower production during the period of 2004–05 to 2017–18 is attributed to the surge in the area under cauliflower cultivation. The production and productivity of cauliflower in India showed positive and significant growth annually from 2004–05 to 2017–18 but in Punjab, productivity showed a negative trend of-3.50%. The share of Hoshiarpur in total cauliflower production was recorded at the highest of 14.57%, while in Amritsar, it was recorded at 7% of total Punjab. The perusal of data indicated that more than 50% of the cauliflower growers belonged to the age group of 30–50 years. Education improves the technical knowledge of growers and it was found that 75.01% of them were educated up to the intermediate level. Overall, 75% of the cauliflower growers were small farmers. The results indicated that 55.83% of the cauliflower growers were from joint families. Most cauliflower growers were sowing local varieties (80.83%) rather than hybrid varieties (19.17%) due to the higher cost of the latter.
