Abstract

This study focuses on the impact of backward integration on chilli farmers’ adoption of technology. Most chilli farmers following backward integration (46.87%) are adopting seven technologies with technology adoption index 80–90; farmers not following backward integration (73.43%) are adopting fewer than four technologies with adoption index <50. There is a positive and significant effect of extension services (0.11) and backward integration (0.53) on technology adoption at 10% and 5% levels.
