The study aimed to study the food consumption patterns of village communities, including women and children, in Mexico. The objective is to study food consumption and food security in the village community. For this, the survey was conducted among 141 respondents from three municipalities in Puebla: San Salvador el Verde, Tlapanala, and Coatzingo. A descriptive data analysis and an ANOVA model were used in this analysis. The monthly food expenditure on Tlapanala was $767, which was less than the recommended minimum spending of CONEVAL. The minimum amount of money required to attain common benefits was around $881.39 (September 2014). Daily consumption of foods was estimated and also, the daily consumption of calories is key for food security; it was 2633 kcal in Coatzingo.
