A study was carried out at tea plantations and it was observed that the average annual utilization of tractors on these plantations ranged from 1521 to 1672 hours. It was also observed that procurement of spare parts were easy at those tea plantations, where tractors of same make and model were owned. Thus, the annual utilization of tractors on these farm was better than those where out dated different makes and models of tractors were used.
