Field trials on use of, Allahabad type double animal 3 padded collar harness, Nagpuri and Local yokes were conducted at 5 locations in Bhopal district and work performance of 10 pairs of bullocks were evaluted in tillage operation with 45, 50, 60, 70 and 80 cm. blade harrow (bakhar) during Rabi crop seasons in 1191,1992 and 1993. The study showed that the advantage of 3 padded collar harness and Nagpuri yoke was more pronounced when the draft load was equivalent to more than 12% of body weight of bullocks. The maximum work-outputs of the bullock pairs were at draft levels equivalent to 14.41%, 3.46% and 11.60% of their body weights with 3 padded collar harness, Nagpuri yoke and local yoke, respectively. Due to use of increased size of impliments the work output in terms of area coverage wag increased by 18.77% increase of 3 padded collar harness and 9.15% incase of Nagpuri yoke in comparison to local yoke.
