In India there are 25 Agricultural Engineering Colleges offering B Tech. M. Tech. & Ph D degree programmes. The annual intake capacity of these Institutions of B Tech M Tech & Ph D. degree are 837, 230, 44 where as the annual pass outs are 506. 95 and 27 respectively This fills only 60, 41 and 56% of the sanctioned strength. In addition, some of the Agricultural Engineers are admitted in other discipline of higher degree programmes. It is therefore, recommended that to strike a balance of Agricultural Engineers, from their production to requirements, the engineers should he brought from other disciplines. Alternatively the entry seats should he enhanced or more of the institutions be opended.
