Abstract

With the aim of improve the productivity, quality and storability of jaggery and khandsari through development of better and standardized processes. equipments and management technologies, the AICRP on Processing. Handing and Storage of Jaggery and Khandsari was launched by Indian Council of Agricultural Research in February, 1989 initially with four centres viz IISR Lucknow, GBPUA&T Pantnagar, RARS Anakapalle and RS&JRS Kolhapur The present article briefly describes about the history, mandate, objectives, cooperating centres and significant achievements of the Project.
