All India Coordinated Research Project on Human Engineering and Safety in Agriculture

The All India Coordinated Research Project on Human Engineering and Safety in Agriculture was sanctioned by ICAR during VIII Plan with a budget of Rs. 57 lakhs. The research work included survey on agricultural accidents, ergonomic consideration in design of agricultural machinery, and collection of anthropometric data on male and female agricultural workers The Project has four cooperating centres, located at CIAE Bhopal, TNAU Coimbatore, PAU Ludhiana and OUAT Bhubaneshwar The Coordinating Cell of this AICRP is located at CIAE Bhopal.

The activities under this Project are intended to improve the design of equipment and provide comfortable environment to workers engaged in agriculture and related sectors, thus making the work life of about 200 million workers better and safer through application on ergonomic principles and practices.
