Abstract

The new millennium is demanding high quality lint both for internal consumption and overseas trade. Ginning industry in the country has to witness a drastic change in the ginningpractices in the coming years. From simple gins and semi-automatic systems, ginneries have now advanced to computerised automatic ginning practices which could run the gins to their full capacities, increasing the outturn, cutting down labour involvement thereby keeping cotton trash free and making efficient use of available energy. A computerised Automatic Kapas feeding system with trolley maintains a controlled feed to gins as and when reqUired and solves the problems of over-underfeeding, contamination and labour requirement. It has sensors which are mounted in the autofeeders that activate the relays or motors thereby starting or stoppingfeed to gins.
