Success Story on Prototype Manufacturing of Agricultural Implements and Machines

For popularisation of agricultural implements and machines, a revolving fund scheme on Prototype Manufacturing of Agricultural Implements and Machine was started in the Division of Agricultural Engineering at the IARI with the ICAR's loan of Rs. 10 lakhs in April 1996. In house and outside production of prototypes was undertaken. These prototypes were sold to the Institutions/farmers/Industries/Entrepreneurs. Since inception of the scheme, the prototypes of Rs. 1,19,60,552.00 were sold. On the basis of the feedback received, the design of the prototypes were improved for better performance and to meet the specific needs of users.
